‘Watching’ – original mixed media woodcut and watercolour

My artwork represents and celebrates my love of the natural world and respect for nature. Drawing and sketchbooks have always been an important part of my practise and I like to keep experimenting with different methods of printmaking, painting, embossing, papermaking, 3D work and taking photographs.

As a painter printmaker, my studio wood or linocut prints and my mixed media works, use the formal limitations of the block to explore and express my personal relationship with the natural world. I also enjoy using my work to invite reflection and conversation on the environmental challenges our planet faces today and to support fundraising initiatives for wildlife and conservation charities. I’m honoured to have been a finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition at the Mall Galleries and in Sketch for Survival at Oxo Gallery.

I have been an artist for over 40 years, having been taught by renowned artist Christopher Fiddes at Northampton High School for Girls, studying for a Diploma in Foundation Studies at Northampton School for Art, a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Loughborough College of Art and Design, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art.
