Invisible Faces

Microbes life beyond sight
I create every day as a form of therapy, pain relief, relaxation and expression as a disabled person. Until 2026 I had enough residual eye sight to paint using an iPad, using the huge magnification. This year my sight has worsened even further and so I have been experimenting with sculptures, textures and tactile art, which has the benefit of making them accessible to other blind people.
I rarely know what exactly will emerge in my artwork, indeed I try to set aside any particular aim, preferring to respond ‘in the moment’ as my hands work with the materials. However, my passion for justice, nature, faith and my own lived experience as a disabled person influence everything I do.
As I create artworks they are accompanied by evolving poems, or inspired by the poetry I have been writing every day for decades. The interplay between poetry and art has led to my paintings being included in my books of poetry and my poems accompanying my exhibitions.
If you'd like to know more about me and my creativity, you can find me online at LLMCalling.com or on social media @emmuk74 where I aim to encourage, bless and affirm people.
